The Braves' boys swimming and diving team finished fourth at the NE8 Conference meet on Saturday at Norwell. The Braves finished with 174 points. The fourth-place finish was highlighted by two conference champions - sophomore Oliver Werling winning the 100 backstroke and freshman Logan Whitacre winning the 1 meter diving event. The Braves had a banner day after facing a week of challenges - the NE8 conference meet was cancelled last week because of inclement weather, school delays throughout the week because of weather, and having to practice at a different pool because of a lack of working practice facilities. Each member of the Braves' team had a personal-best swim at the NE8 Conference meet. In all, the Braves' boys team had 17 season-best performances on Saturday. Werling and Whitacre received NE8 first-team honors, while freshman Hudson Krull was named to the all-conference second team. Sophomore Zane Roop earned all-conference honorable mention honors. NE8 Conference boys final team standings 1. Huntington North - 269 2. Norwell - 251 3. Columbia City - 214 4. Bellmont - 174 5. DeKalb - 132 6. East Noble - 128
